Bellac, Le Dorat, and Montmorillon, the principal larger towns in the area, are all about 20-25 kilometres away and provide the full range of services including large supermarkets and all secondary schooling requirements, plus rail services to Limoges and Poitiers (for fast TGV access to Paris, other major cities, and Disneyworld). Limoges and Poitiers airports are both about an hour’s drive away.
Futuroscope, located a few kilometres to the north-east of Poitiers and one of the principal attractions in France, is also about an hour’s drive away. “Lac de Vassiviére” et Lac de St Pardoux both renowned for water based leisure activities can be accessed readily as can “l’étang de Murat”, a protected bird sanctuary, and a major stop over for migratory birds.
